The Cork Education & Training Board
is highly invested in adult and community education, they provide pathways for every learner. Their ethos is to empower individuals to enable them to fully participate in learning by providing opportunities in local community centre where people feel comfortable.
St. Michael’s Centre has partnered with CETB to provide three courses during spring 2019. The groups are free, open to any adult and match the expressed needs of the community. We will begin new groups in September 2019
Personal Development Course
with a self-care element, this short introduction offered participants a space to get to know one’s self better in a supportive, friendly, non-judgmental environment. The group took place in March with ten participants looking to invest some time in themselves.
this group was held on Wednesday in April for 6 weeks. Yoga has many positive benefits for the mind and body including stress reduction, improved circulation, loosen & strengthen muscles, reduce joint pain and increase body strength & balance.
Tai – Chi
this group was held Tuesdays in May from 2.00-3.30. The beginner’s class showed participants how to combine gentle movement and breathing to help improve flexibility and fitness. Tai Chi can be a fantastic way to leave go of stress and focus the mind.
Booking is advisable as there are a limited number of spaces.
All the facilitators are all registered with the CETB, have experience working with community groups and are qualified in the relevant area.
Personal Development – Monday night’s 7.00-8.30 beginning March 4th for four weeks.
Chair Yoga – Wednesday’s 2.00-3.00 beginning April 3rd for six weeks.
Tai Chi – Tuesdays 2.00-3.00 beginning May 7th 2.00-3.00 for four weeks.
